Need help with the virus

I received virus notices all day with a threat and a warning to down load McAvee I do NOT use Mcavee I use Web Root. I reached out to Geek Squad. Still trying to get my computer fixed

Hour after hour I went on hold with Best Buy and with Dell and Dell tells me to go Best Buy and Best Buy tells me to go to that dell and blah blah blah blah Unfortunately I bought the 2-year warranty when I bought my computer a couple months ago and because of that Dell will not take care of the broken battery... You told me that Dell has a warrantied until November 2022 and Dell tells me that the problem is with you . Please call 250-818-**** thank you

Total nightmare! Bought a laptop, printer and software from Best Buy.

Couldnt get anything to work. Back to the store next day for geek Squad help. They said it was all fixed. Ive been on the phone every night for the last 3 weeks with Geek Squad trying to fix issues.

I was contacted today from a so called representative from the geek squad number claiming they needed to fix an issue with internet security and they proceeded to acquire personal info such as ss number, credit card numbers, a picture of my DL bank accounts etc. Also text messages from bitcoin and other crypto currency. Very suspicious. Trying to contact someone with geek squad to report but keep getting put on hold or stuck in a loop!

Total *** Had to cancel all my cc.

Also worried that my ID has been stolen. I want my money back from Best Buy!

Computer might have a virus. When I clicked on a recipe I got a bunch of stuff supposedly from Microsoft and my computer was going to be locked Issue was resolved. Great help!

Well I'm getting billed for something I don't know anything about. I have a so called visa card that I don't have. How can we resolve this matter? The one guy said something about having to have I computer. Well I have know computer. I have a phone. I'm pissed. I'm getting charged with something that I have know clue what it is all about.

I spent hours on line and on the phone. I was disconnected on the phone. Chat was no help. When I tried to make an appointment they could only make it in a distant store. Apparently the Best Buy where I have gone before no longer offers in person Geek Squad. They could not tell me that up front. In the end I cancelled my membership with Geek Squad.

Today I called sevreral times Geek Squad, RE: to Computer Services at Eastern time 2:00 P.M. & the promised 45 min.

retrn call or chat notice did not hapen. Only in 2hrs. then 2 other agets I was transferd to & the last one (Abdula) D/C-d me for my TEL. conversation & also my chat remote disappeared & only the black Geek Squad icon stayed in my computer ,with MRI Customizer Operation Compplete -summery of the task were performed & under that written" AWAITING GEEK SQUAD AGENT"- 3 updates failed.

I don`t know if he finished his work or not , I called back agian & another agent said she can`t help in this, looks like he is working on it & I should call back in 30 min. This is very fraystrating, since Eastern time 2:00 P.M. & now it`s 6:00 P.M. I`m very disappointed in Geek Squad services.

Please take this case to the supervisor.

Broken Microwave

The tech came to make the repair but the parts that were sent were the wrong parts. The technician diagnosed a bad fuse but the unit has to be pulled to replace it, a two person job. He and his partner are due back on Friday, July 2nd. I have now been without a microwave for almost a month. So much for that extended warranty. Save your money. Best Buy doesnt care if it is ever fixed!

Complaint: The lid to my gaming laptop is bent and won't close all the way now. Geek squad physically damaged my machine. Breakdown: 11am Gave the lady at the counter my laptop, we talked and agree that the OS will just need to be reinstalled and I'm prepared for it as I'd brought an external HD with me. She says it will be awhile since "the tech aren't here yet", so I look around then leave after buying something on sale. I came back at about 2pm and there are other people there, the guy I spoke to said they're in the middle of tying to find out how to fix it and that they have to go through a process (as opposed to just doing what will remedy the situation) before their able to backup and then reload my machine with a new product key. I'm told again that it will take a few hours and I leave their store again. I went out to do some maintenance on my vehicle got an oil change and came back to Best Buy afterwards at about 6pm I'm told again that they are still working on it and that I'll be called when it's done. As I sat there in the parking lot I checked my email and click on the message from Best Buy and notice the link to keep track of repairs I click on it and behold the laptop checked in but wasn't listed as being assigned to anybody or being worked on. I went to get a coffee so that I could stay awake until the repairs were done. Then at seven I called the store and a guy answered telling me that there was no way it would be done today, to which I said that I not only made an appointment the day before but that I'd dropped it off an hour earlier and said the lady I left my machine with already had the right idea of how to solve the issue. He just began hurriedly talking over me saying that the agreement that I signed states they could take them three to five days (if they wanted?) I said they knew what to do but didn't want to do it and said that I'd noticed that for some reason they didn't assign the work ticket to any individual there at Best Buy and that I've been checking the site to see if any progress was made. I just end up telling him that since they close at 8pm I'll wait, he says that it's not going to be done today. I just wanted to avoid having to make multiple trips out to get repairs during the outbreak of COVID-19 and not waste fuel as well which is why I'd waited for so long. By the time we'd finished speaking I was doubly tired and said I'm just going to go home and then hung up. Shortly after arriving at home I check my email and there's a message saying the repairs are complete. The time my laptop was checked into Best Buys System and the time the message came in was only one minute apart at 8:01pm, which is one minute after their store in Jacksonville NC closes. I leave the next day pick up my laptop and take it home and when I go to open it I see it's bent at both sides of the screen towards the hinge and that it doesn't fully close anymore. I'm about to call the corporate office as soon as possible and show up in person to speak with the manager. I'll even go so far as to return this device for a refund since they damaged my goods themselves and were shady enough to never assign the trouble ticket so the blame falls on all of their peers as well.

I purchased a Sony Oled tv. I also purchased the 5 year warranty for it for $499.99. Two weeks later Best Buy lowered the price of the Tv by $500 and the 5 year warranty by $120. Customer service refunded the $500 for the tv but would not refund the $120 difference in price for the 5 year warranty. Does this seem like some kind of scam ? It doesn't seem like a fair business practice.

Unacceptable Exercise Bike Installation

My terrible experience with Geek Squad started November 2020, after purchasing a NordicTrack S15i exercise bike, when the delivery was cancelled twice by Geek Squad because: 1) no product in inventory, and about 10 days later 2) no service personnel available to deliver and install it. Once the delivery date arrived, it turned out that the two Geek Squad service people were sub-contractors who, apparently had not installed a NordicTrack S15i before. For a month or so of using the bike, I would not get any results from my efforts (RPM's, miles biked, time, etc.), so I called NordicTrack, and they got me in touch with a certified service company. When their qualified technician came out, he found that the electronics required to provide all these results were damaged. The two wire harnesses with the connectors to the console had bent pins, thus no results were even possible. It was obvious that the two sub-contracted service people literally slammed the bike together, including not installing 4 screws to steady the bike. And they never tested the bike upon completion. The certified technician ordered all new parts to replace the damaged and missing parts and will be installing them shortly.style=" I directly blame Geek Squad for this totally unacceptable installation. If Geek Squad elects to use sub-contractors and not their own employees, then these people must be trained, so they know what they are doing, especially when installing most of today's equipment which is totally based upon electronics. I will never use Geek Squad again for the installation of anything.

Basically experience PC problem where computer was hacked and locked up PC. Error message suggested calling this number 1-21*-513-****. Called and technician proceeded to fix problem but said I needed to sign a contract. PC appeared to work but I experienced a another problem [error message]. contacted IT GEEK support and they couldn't fix the error message. Basically told me to ignore it but I couldn't close the error. Had top contact a private company to fix the error and remove all the stuff IT GEEKs installed. Tried to initiate a refund of charges to no avail. Attempted to email the support email address [support@***T GEEK SQUAD.com] and no such site or address. I'm out $321.

REPRESENTIVE STOLE $2,000 FROM ME

On November 19, 2020, at about 10am EST - i called the Geek Squad technical support to ask that they not renew my membership, since i am being treated for Prostate Cancer and could not afford it. Everything went well for a while, then the technical support person said i they would give me back the money that they had billed my checking account for, and also a rebated from last year since i do not use the computer for business. The amount was for $350.00 and he had control of my computer. The amount was ready to go into my checking account, and for some reason, when i typed in the amount it came out to $3,500.00 instead and the technical guy started to panic and said he would lose his job. I told him to just change the amount, but he replied that he could not do that. He recommended i get four American Express gift cards each for $500.00 that i did after much running around. He stayed on my speaker cell phone for nearly 3 hours, i got the cards then read the numbers off to him, and never heard from him again. I am out $2,000.00 that i can't afford. And the $3,500 that was put into my account, was gone at end of day. This is a crime, i am a 75 year old Vietnam Veteran suffering from prostate cancer, and expected to be treated better than this. The tech person who had the Western Michigan phone number of 1-61*-371-**** and 1-61*-647-**** that he called from. I have filed a report with the Michigan Attorney Generals Office. my name is arthur b. fox, pittsburgh, PA.

Worst customer service

My Maytag washer broke down January 9, w2021. I have extended warranty thru Geek Squad. My appt was changed 4 times. No one has come to service it. A company called VehTech is supppose to fix it. Parts on order. For 20 days. I have no washing machine to use. I keep getting numbers to call and I getting the same answers. Service is horrible. No one has anything to say but we're so sorry. But I still haven't had a washer for 20 days.

Cell phone warranty issue

I have geek squad warranty on my cell phone and made a claim a while ago. I have already on my credit card been charged in around of $1,100 for deductible and to cover the cost of a phone until mine is returned.

I had someone who stayed home to get the delivery because UPS would not leave it on the door. When the package arrived it was a EMPTY box. Why in the world would they not let a person do this in store. Are they too smart for this?

Still have my deposit and I am unable to see the lower half of my screen. They say they are investigating. If one could do this instore the problem would have been solved and or NEVER occurred.

So now I wait with a phone that you cant see the bottom of and paid around $900.00 for a empty box. Not including the $200.00 in wages lost waiting for UPS to deliver the empty box.
